Dr. María Rodríguez, Somerville resident, Crowned Queen of the Baoruco Province for the Dominican Parade & Festival of New Jersey
The honor was bestowed upon Rodríguez based on her many contributions to the community, positive representation of her Dominican heritage, and beauty
PATERSON, New Jersey—
Dr. María Rodríguez of Somerville, New Jersey, has been named Queen of the Baoruco Province in conjunction with the upcoming Dominican Parade and Festival of New Jersey in Paterson on September 18, 2022.
Each year, the festival committee selects several women of Dominican heritage to be celebrated at the festivities. Queens are chosen based on a variety of factors, including their beauty, contributions to the community, and pride for their culture.
Rodríguez, a resident of Somerville, was named Queen of the Baoruco Province and will be feted at this year’s parade and festival. Rodríguez is the founder and CEO of Care Counseling Center, which has locations in Somerville and Princeton. She is an accomplished mental health professional who has shown great passion and commitment for the wellbeing of families and individuals with compassionate, quality counseling services. She also offers immigration services as part of her professional portfolio.
In addition to working out of the Care Counseling Center, Rodríguez has also served as a university instructor for psychology and women’s and gender studies classes for nearly two decades. She holds a Ph.D. from Capella University and a master’s degree from William Paterson University.
