Dear Oscar and Americano Newspaper,
May Day or the International Workers’ Day is a celebration of workers’ resistance. Be they immigrants, Black, or white, workers of the world join together every 1st of May to remind the world and specifically to those who dominate the workforce that we, the workers, are the ones who create wealth and we don’t deserve to be oppressed nor excluded.
Unidad Latina en Acción NJ is a grassroots migrant justice organization that works under the mission of educating, empowering and organizing migrant communities to defend and protect our human and civil rights. We believe that community education and active participation are the basis for social development and empowerment.

We are pleased to inform you about our annual commemoration of International Workers’ Day on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at 6pm sharp! We are organizing a march, “Nothing About Us Without Us”, around Princeton where we will start at the Witherspoon Presbyterian Church and end at the Fountain of Freedom in Princeton University.
We would like to have you cover our event in your media. Last year we had over 300 members of the community come out to commemorate this day and this year again, we will march for all those essential workers of the world. Locally we are lifting up the voices of the workers in our community and elaborated the following demands: We demand a Worker’s Center in Princeton! We Demand Just and Humane Immigration Policy – Papers for all!
We are fighting for the NJ Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, along with mechanisms for implementation. Abolish ICE – NO TO THE POLIMIGRA – End the collusion of local police with ICE!
We demand the NJ Values Act!No to Wage Theft! A day’s pay for a day’s work. We demand permanent funding for the NJ Fund for Excluded Workers!
Black Lives Matter
We Demand more resources for the working class – Not for War.
We would like to share with you the attached flyer about our special performers Los Guachinangos.
Their music is part of our cultural program to integrate art with la lucha. You don’t want to miss this show!
